Once again I’ve been falling behind lately. This last month has been something else. Looking forward, things appear to settle down a little in the next few weeks. Hopefully, I’ll get back on track shortly and revisit my blog.
I’ve got several things juggling; as well as quite a few topics I’ve been wanting to comment on. The issue is just finding the time…
Long story short:
Still waiting for my next set of orders. I heard from the ship this week. Of course, they want me sooner rather than later. I don’t think the Marines will let me go that early. It will be interesting to see what happens when I get the official word from Big Navy…
My house is slated for demo. I’ve got to move soon. Just signed for a beautiful home in Honolulu. As long as those orders come through, everything will be alright 
I’m working on my FMF pin. That’s taking some time. I hope to board in March. A small part of the PQS was to go on a hike with the Marines (6 mile minimum). I just did that this past week. Check the pic. It wouldn’t be a real 
hump without the doc and chaplain along, right? That’s me and one of our docs. Small packs, body armor and weapons. Too bad I didn’t prep my right boot correctly. Now I’m paying for it (the wound should heal up in another week or so. I wish I were joking…)
The TAD to Okinawa is pushed back to late spring. I’ve got more prep time now to provide that training 
I’m very pleased to see how Redeemer Presbyterian has taken off. Our new OPC church plant in Oahu is doing well. I’m happy about that. I’m preaching there from time to time.
The War College stuff consistently keeps me underwater. That’s alright. I can see the light at the end of the tunnel. I just need to power through these next few months and wrap up that JPME phase I.
When I get a chance, I need to respond to an inquiry from a homosexual Episcopal priest. An interesting email exchange to say the least…
Also, I was challenged this past week by a Roman Catholic on the subject of praying to the saints. He presents a thoughtful defense of the practice that deserves a thorough answer.
Just a quick note to say that I’m still here and kicking. When I get a chance, I’ll get back to posting an article here from time to time.
